DE0-Nano TCL commands for quartus.stp control

Hi, I need to use TCL commands for establishing TCP/IP connection  and to use virtual JTAG Intel IP. I need to debug the design and communicate with the board through my PC. The board DE0-Nano houses a cyclone IV FPGA. I could not understand commands to send and receive data. Also, what is the meaning of shift-DR i.e., the value that is assigned in this command is given to TDI or to DR register directly? Why it is said that to get the received data from the board to pc, we need to tap the TDI value? There few related doubts. If there are any manuals or examples then please provide.

I came across a post that talks about this communication. But again, no one from the community replied or clarified in 5 days. He/she learned by himself. Still there is a lot of room for VJTAG IP core. Intel should come with the  detailed explaination with good examples. I am waiting let see when a response is posted by community, if at all.  Here is the blog: https://community.intel.com/t5/Programmable-Devices/a-few-questions-about-using-Virtual-JTAG-ip-core/m-p/1266882#M79342

Hi,
original post is already 4 month old, may be you answered the question yourself in the meantime. I believe that the specific questions are ansered in the VJTAG IP user guide linked above. The title refers to Signaltap although it's not specifically mentioned in the question. If you have questions that are not addressed by the VJTAG user manual, you should ask explicitely.

Regards
Frank
