Hi,

I just received a PCIe Stratix II Dev Board. It comes with a 30 day trial of Jungo WinDrivers. Are they really needed for the operation of the board?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on the type of PCIe peripherals you are targetting at, if you need a windows driver. You could try to use a device type that is supported by a windows supplied driver, otherwise you need a windows kernel driver. The general method to develop a driver is with Microsoft DDK kit, that is available for shipping cost. Jungo tries to provide a more easy way for "lazy engineers", using a combination of preconfigured kernel drivers and specific user mode driver, but it may may be less performant than a exact fitted kernel driver in some cases.
