Intel HD Graphics: screen shortly blanks, then comes back up

After a few minutes Every 15 minutes the screen will go blank for a few seconds. Then it resumes and works normally again. Audio transmission over HDMI is interrupted too when the blank happens. What's that scary feature? Could it be sleep and do I have to disable it in power management options to prevent that? I must admit I haven't seen power management settings ever influence a graphics driver that way before.

edit: Annoyingly it is re-ocurring. Unfortunately it has become a major annoyance. Please help.

Hello foo-on-air,

There are a few questions I would like you to answer for further investigation:

  1. What is the power supply wattage you have?
  2. Is this happening when the system is not in use or when you are using it?
  3. Can you please post your dxdiag report here?
