Upgrading to Intel HD5500 Graphics Driver from Microsoft Basic Display Adapter shows blank screen

Hi All,

I have Toshiba Satellite C55-C5240 and recently this issue occurred. So, when the HD5500 driver is installed, it just shows blank screen and I cannot do anything. I need to go to safe mode and rollback the driver to "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", but issue with this is that I cannot use sleep mode, cannot change brightness, cannot connect projector, etc. I have tried the latest drivers (beta as well as stable version) but no success. Kindly help me with this!

Try the OEM drivers from http://support.toshiba.com/drivers http://support.toshiba.com/drivers

Besides the graphics driver they also offer a "Toshiba System driver", sounds important.

There are also BIOS updates from March/April that might help.

Hi,

Was your system working fine before and then failed or this is happening from the beginning?

Try uninstalling the driver, restart your system and install the latest https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25948/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=86210 Intel® driver

Please see http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005598.html Uninstalling the Intel® Graphics Driver and Intel® Display HDMI/Audio Driver

If the problem persists try installing the driver manually, see http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html How to Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 & Windows 8* or Windows 8.1*

Regards,

Ivan
