hd4000 running games badly

hi all just wanted to get some info on the hd4000. i've got a p8z77 lx2 mobo, i5 3570k, 16gb of ram and i'm running on windows ultimate 64bit. quite undemanding games like black mesa and tf2 are unplayable. I've also tried other stuff like amnesia and slender which aren't too hardware intensive either and they still run very badly.

screen tear is also so bad i always have to enable vsync and i keep getting msgs in the taskbar saying i'm not using my optimal resolution which it thinks is 1920*1080 even though i have a hd ready tv which is set at 1280*720. if i try and run 1920*1080 in games it doesn't work just resets back to native 1280*720. i did a scan on the intel site and have the latest drivers. the 4000 is only integrated i know but i've seen youtube vids of people running better games than me and a lot more smoothly. I'm at my wit's end here, anyone got any ideas? cheers

You are trying to play with a hd4000? looool....Better get yourself a real graphiccard... and then have Fun!

Otherwise you could try to decrease the resolution (1920*1080 is way to high for hd4000), switch off AA and all other unnecessary features... then you'll get an acceptable FPS (...maybe)...

Btw TF2 isn't an undemanding game

Thanks for the reply, i was never trying to play the games at high settings, somewhere between low and medium was what i was goin for. they still run very badly and like i said in my post I've seen newer games run better on the hd4000 than the ones i'mm trying to play. as for the resolution my tv is only hd ready but for some reason it thinks it's full hd.

This is a temporary situation, i plan on getting a 660 ti soon enough. The problem is i know the 4000 is not great but it's still not performing the way it should be i think. the ti should do the trick and i'll actually be making use of my system then. i'd still like to know why my hd4000 isn't working properly though?
