A770 problems lagging and not ever friendly to 99% of bios

Will Intel ever make the a770 ark compatible with the motherboards they have processors in? Its puzzling to me as to why such a powerful card is not even worth 100 dollars usd. It performs like one of those fake generic chinese cards that are 100 dollars. Nothing is compatible to it. Not even your bios! All Dell computers and server workstations do not have a rebar option as they do not need one since in uefi mode its unlocked automatically. Oh wait, that's the same for every major brand!
Its common sense. Common sense! Not rocket science! Common sense! Fix it in your end! Its a simple fix, but you do nothing at all! Waste of money. If you wanted to sell a gpu for only mobos that have to have a rebar option then you should have stated it on the box! You could just take it out of your gpu bios on an update and make a name for yourselves. But nah, lets ruin our chances of overtaking the whole gpu industry and ruin our name.

Official Intel's requirement for motherboard are 10th gen and up. But you can find manufacturer supporting REBAR since 8th Gen CPU.

I think only 12 gen and up are plug and play. Older motherboards need extra tinkering in the bios.

But I agree with you, Intel should have communicated the requirements for the Intel arc on launch better.

I am using a 8600k on a Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming and gigabyte was cool enough to provide me a custom bios for Intel Arc A770.

You can even mod REBAR support for older motherboard too.

I would not recommend it myself because you might run into further compatibility or stability problems.

Do it at your own risk.

Hello GSauto,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

If I may offer input here: I understand your frustration with the Intel Arc A770 and its compatibility issues. The requirement for Resizable BAR (ReBAR) support is indeed a significant factor for optimal performance with Intel's Arc GPUs. This feature allows the CPU to access the entire GPU memory, which can improve performance but also limits compatibility with older systems.

Regarding Dell systems, it appears that ReBAR support is not universally available across all models. Some Dell systems, particularly older or certain workstation models, may not have this feature enabled by default or at all.

System manufacturers could potentially address these compatibility issues through BIOS updates. For reference, you can check the following articles:

Furthermore, your feedback on our product is highly appreciated as it will give us room for improvement in future enhancements.

Sincerely,

JeanetteC.
