I have FPS issues with AC Valhalla

Fedora

My specs: MSİ A620-E motherboard, Intel ARC A770, Ryzen 5 7500f, 2x16 gb DDR5 G.Skill ram.

The game playes around 65-75 (I have 1080p 75hz monitor) its enough for me but %1 frames are really bad. Game in-game FPS statistics shows %1 frame are around 15-30 and it is so distubing. I'm at the beginning of the game, all settings are on the highest. Motion blur is off. The shadows are medium. I am using lastest driver.

Hello Fedora,

To assist you effectively and resolve your issue, I need some additional information. Kindly provide answers to the following questions:

  • Are there any background applications running that might be consuming significant CPU or GPU resources?
  • Have you monitored your CPU and GPU temperatures during gameplay to check if thermal throttling might be causing the frame drops?
  • Are your power settings configured for maximum performance, both in Windows and in your GPU control panel?
  • Is your game fully updated with the latest patches? Sometimes, game updates can address performance issues
  • What type of storage is AC Valhalla installed on? An SSD or HDD? Slow storage can sometimes cause stuttering.

If possible, kindly share to us your game settings and version of it.

Your answer will help me to diagnose and isolate the issue.

Thank you for your cooperation.

- No

- My hardware is new. Therefore, the thermal paste of the processor and graphics card is in good condition. I always take the temperature values I get and run the graphics card's fans at the highest level. Not because of any problem.

- I always use the processor in performance mode for maximum performance. I set the game to work with external GPU in windows settings.

- The game runs on version 1.7.0. This version was released as the last update by Ubisoft.

- I am using Samsung EVO 970 Plus 2 TB.

- There are serious performance losses when zooming in with bows called "predator bows" in the game. That's why I can't use that bow type. I drop from 75 FPS to around 40 FPS. This problem persists at every stage of the game.

Hello Fedora,

To better understand and resolve the issue you're experiencing, could you kindly provide us with some sample screenshots or a recording of your experience? This will greatly assist our team in replicating and addressing the problem.

In addition, it would be very helpful if you could share your game settings and the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* logs for further analysis of your system.

We truly appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work to find a solution.

The problem seems to have been fixed a little with the latest driver, but it is still felt. You can easily understand it when you look at the graphics. Problems with registration have existed for a long time. I don't use the recording feature much.

Hello Fedora,

Our engineering team is currently investigating the performance of the GPU while running your game. To assist us in this process, we kindly ask that you capture a CapFrameX performance log of the game.

CapFrameX Installation instructions:

  1. Go to https://www.capframex.com/download and download the latest version of CapframeX.
  2. Go to https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html and download the latest version of RTSS.
  3. Unzip both installers and install them.
  4. Launch CapFrameX and then close it. This is so it creates the user Configuration folder.
  5. Download and unzip the file OverlayEntryConfiguration_0.json (attached in this post) with the recommended RTSS configuration.
  6. Paste this file to %userprofile%\Documents\CapFrameX\Configuration.
  7. In the Capture tab, set the "Capture time" to 0. This is to remove the preset limit in capture time.
  8. In the Overlay tab, uncheck "Auto-Disable OSD" and click the save icon.

Capturing the Performance Data:

  1. Open CapframeX and do NOT minimize or close it.
  2. Open the game and go to the part of the game you need to be to reproduce the issue. You should see the RTSS overlay in the top left corner of your screen, with the status "<game name> ready to capture…".
  3. Press F11 to start capturing data and reproduce the issue. The Status in the overlay will change to "Recording frametimes XX s".
  4. Once you have reproduced the issue, press F11 to finish the data capturing. The Status in the overlay will change to "Processing data".
  5. Back to CapFrameX, you can find all the data captures in the left panel of the Analysis tab. Clicking any one of these captures will display the results on the right.
  6. To export the data captured as a JSON file, right click the capture and click on "Copy/paste recording file(s)".

This information will greatly help us in analyzing the performance and addressing any concerns you may have.

My average FPS value keeps fluctuating between 60 and 75. While it should provide a smooth experience above 60 FPS, 1% FPS values are disturbing. The game is very fluid when there are no enemies or burning/shattering objects around me and especially when I don't use "predator bows". It may be an effect of the bug fix patch that increases Ryzen processor performance in Windows 23H2/24H2. It does not drop to around 40 FPS as before, but the performance problem continues. Thank you for your help. I hope it helps.

Hello Fedora,

Our engineer has reviewed the CapFrameX results and did not observe any low FPS performance with the game. However, to further troubleshoot the issue, please follow these steps:

1. Perform a DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and install the latest graphics driver version 32.0.101.6077.

2. Which game distribution service are you using to play the game (e.g., Steam, Ubisoft, etc.) so we can better replicate the issue using the correct platform.

3. It's Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Ragnarok Edition, Complete Edition?

We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to resolving this issue for you.
