Ok so I'm still a little green at the computer savvy thing and could really use some advice before I totally lose my mind. Please forgive my grammatical errors but I'm trying to be brief. Got an acer nitro 5 a budget rate gamer. 250gig SSD and terabyte HHD. trying to set them up to work together. partition the HHD as virtual memory . Downloaded intel Optane-Memory and cant quite set it up mainly because i honestly dont understand some of it , such as the message the tells me that it cant find any disk pairs...  All because I found and downloaded halo infinity, a40gig game but cant get it to run and I'm like a kid I have to play it now or I'm going to have a temper tantrum please help, advice, directions, ideas or what ever I'm open to, and grateful for any help you could offer

Hello, ThatNamesTaken.

Thank you for posting on the Intel Community Support forums and for providing the system report.

I received your ticket regarding configuration questions, and I will be reviewing this with you.

In this particular case, it is important to confirm if you have an Intel Optane Memory or not, just as AlHill mentioned, and based on the report provided, this system does not have one.

The error message regarding "disk pairs" shows up in the Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management because you do not have a valid Optane Memory installed in the system, so that error is expected.

An Intel Optane Memory is a special type of M.2 drive designed to accelerate SATA SSDs and HDDs, and that is the product that we support in this particular forum section, please see the links below for more details:

The "Optane Memory and Storage Management" application combines the functionalities of the "Optane software" and "Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST)" software, meaning that if you need assistance with that other aspect of the tool (RAID and storage management) you will need to contact the RST team:

Just so I can save you a trip to the RST forum since your system only has two drives (1 M.2 and 1 HDD, both SATA), there is really nothing to be done here, one has your operating system (the M.2) with the HDD used as secondary storage, and if you have further questions regarding configuration or possible upgrades, we encourage you to contact the OEM or system manufacturer, in this case, ACER, for assistance, since they designed this particular laptop.

If we can help you with anything else, please let me know, but if this is not the case I will close this thread on January 31st.

Regards,

Do you actually have an optane module?

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- ) for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.

Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[Maybe Windows 12 will be better]
