1. When does it crash, e.g. when pressing generate? 2. Did you check if failure depends on specific input, e.g. the hex file? 3. If you already generated combined sof and hex before, did you try to reprocess the old design, if successfully, what's different? 4. You might try a recent converter version.
It crashes when I hit generate. I don't have time to do your bug investigation and I'm hanging on with an older version of Quartus because it includes IP that's deprecated and not in newer versions.
