Inquiry about Scheduling Automatic Stops for Small VM Instance

Hello Intel Developer Cloud team,

I'm currently enrolled in a MLOps course module and am using a Small VM Instance with the Intel® Xeon 4th Gen® Scalable processor. While exploring the platform, I have not found an option to schedule automatic stops for instances. This feature would be extremely useful to optimize resource management and reduce billing expenses. Could you kindly provide instructions or guidance on how to set up scheduled automatic stops for instances with the Intel® Xeon 4th Gen® Scalable processor?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Nitin_Mane,

During your reservation period, the instance is only belong to you from the time you start to launch it until you manually terminate it or reached expiration date. Thus, it is being charged even though the instance is not being used.

Peh

Hello Nitin_Mane,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Unfortunately, we do not have the feature to schedule automatic stops for instance. Instead, you have to manually stop for instance.

Steps to manually stop for instance:

1)     From My instances, in main console, assure that your instance appears.

2)     Under Actions, select the Delete button.

3)     At the dialog “Delete instance”, select Delete to confirm your choice.

Regards,

Peh

Hello,

Thank you for the answer. I tried this step which you have instructed. In this, the instance gets deleted, and the files that I have stored too.

How can I stop an Intel tiny VM instance without deleting it or its files, and without being charged for the time it is stopped?

As it would be helpful for further project integration stages with billing management.

thank you
