Using HBM in FLAT mode

Hi,

I have been trying to use the guidelines listed here for setting up HBM in FLAT mode. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/content-details/769060/intel-xeon-cpu-max-series-configuration-and-tuning-guide.html?DocID=769060

numactl -H shows two nodes with capacity of 256 GB (total of 512 GB). The instance spec for memory is 1024GB.

daxctl list command results in empty list on my instance.

Would you help with setting up separate NUMA node for HBM?

Thanks,

Yasodha.

Hello Faiz,

Thank you for your timely reply. Answers are below.

1. Severity level of the issue: Low/Medium/High/Critical : Critical - cannot use the instance for intended purpose

2. Reservation details:-

- Instance type: 4th Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors with high bandwidth memory (HBM) Flat mode

- Instance ID/Resource ID: reservation-4839

- Start time/Created at: 01/16/2025

- Instance IP address:192.168.2.2

- Region: us-region-1/us-region-2/us-region-3 : us-region-2

3. Cloud account ID:

4. Is there any important data stored on the instance? No

5. Can the IDC support team access the instance and perform the required operations to validate or fix an issue if needed? Yes

6. Screenshot of the numactl-H output. Attached

7. Screenshot of the daxctl list output.

I installed daxctl module and my understanding is that the system needs a reboot for daxctl to work. So, this might be a manifest of the install process.

Thanks,

Yasodha.
