Hi,

I read on pardiso.org that 7.2 release is very much faster than the pardiso mkl version (x900), too big to be true ? If yes, is there any plan to update mkl pardiso to an up to date release ?

Best regards.

Hi!

Short answer: no, of course not.

Moreover, our experiments (semi-official as there is an issue with getting an official binary from PARDISO Project) show that oneMKL PARDISO is faster at least for some problems we looked at.

The history is the following: back around 2006 PARDISO Project and oneMKL PARDISO had the same sources. But after that, both projects developed independently.

So the statement that oneMKL PARDISO of, say, 2020, is similar to 2006 PARDISO Project is false. There were a lot of features (both performance-wise and functional-wise) that were added for the Intel version and are not present in the PARDISO Project (though they might have been added independently there as well).

I suggest doing a comparison for your specific workloads and checking performance. If you have questions about what are the optimal settings for running Intel oneMKL PARDISO, ask us.

Best,
Kirill

in this case, if you will make the comparison for your specific workloads and checking the performance, we encourage you to share these results here. We are highly interested in your feedback.

thanks, Gennady
