How do you switch an Endpoint to a different Endpoint group?

I have successfully moved an Endpoint between groups by doing the following:

  • Copying the emaagent.msh file for the destination group to "C:\program files\intel\ema agent" on the machine I wanted to move
  • Restart EMAAgent service

Is the above the correct way of doing this? Is it even supported? Again, it would be nice if this was documented in one of your guides.

Hello, Jools86,

Thank you for waiting for my answer.

I validated your troubleshooting on how to move an Endpoint between groups, and you are right. This is the proper way to add an Endpoint to a different group. In a few weeks, Intel will release a new article with your troubleshooting.

Thank you for your interest in our software and hardware products and findings.

Regards,

Miguel C.
