Intel V-Pro works in sleep mode at 10 MBit linkspeed

After boot to Windows 10 (21H2) sometimes the linkspeed stays at 10 MBit.

Does anyone knows how to solve this Problem?

Configuration of NIC is standard: Option "*SpeedDuplex" is 0  (Autodetect)

Examples:

(Bold is linkspeed and driver Version  PC2xx and PC3 xx are different computer models, Computer in different locations have this problem)

PC208 10000000 12.18.8.9 2019-01-24 Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-LM

PC209 1000000000 12.18.8.9 2019-01-24 Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-LM

PC305 10000000 12.19.2.55 2023-07-04 Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-LM

PC306 1000000000 12.19.2.55 2023-07-04 Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-LM

Different computermodels are susceptible:

Computer model: FUJITSU ESPRIMO P958

Baseboard: FUJITSU D3602-A1

Intel® ME: v12.0.92 activated in Admin Control Mode (ACM)

BIOS:    V5.0.0.13 R1.30.0 for D3602-A1x

Hello, Guenter1,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

By any chance, have you forced duplex on both sides?

Intel® vPro - AMT does not negotiate the link speed; that is determined by the PHY at a physical layer. Are you getting this speed while accessing the endpoint remotely?

We encourage you to review your network configuration and firewall.

Hi Miguel

both sides are configured with autodetect. They are not forced to full duplex

(Option "*SpeedDuplex" is 0  (Autodetect))

* * * * * "Intel® vPro - AMT does not negotiate the link speed" * * * * **

That is true, but AMT force the computer to reduce power consumption of the device. This include reducing the link speed to 10 Mb.

For any reason sometimes the systems does not renegotiate the networkspeed when windows driver is loaded.

OK this might be an error of the firmware, but it is linked to AMT. That is the reason why I drop this post in AMT forum.

 I feel this is bug!

Unfortunately, Fujitsu does not provide any new BIOS-Updates. Therefore, I have to find a workaround.

It would be possible to force the network card to newly negotiate the link at windows boot time, but this cause a network interruption of about 10 seconds.

Regards.

Hi Guenter1,

Hope you are doing well!

We are currently reviewing the case. In the meantime, could you please confirm if this NIC was shipped with the system? Additionally, could you provide what is the current NIC version?

Hi Guenter1,

Hope you are doing well!

Thank you for the response. Please update the NIC driver using the link provided below. Additionally, as your NIC was shipped with the system, I would recommend connecting with your OEM for a better update.

Hello Azeem

I installed already the latest driver of Fujitsu before.

I checked the OEM driver page again. The driver file is signed by Intel. Therefore, I see no benefit to test another OEM version!

I did my homework and installed the latest Inteldriver on 36 computers!

After reboot the result is as expected!  => 10 Mb
