How to get boot logs?

Hi to all.

I'm new in the world of SoC. Still I've got an afterclass task.

There are DE1-SoC rev. C and two SD cards with linux.

The board is booted from one of the SD's and if I plug a monitor I can see Ubuntu Linux. The board isn't booted from another one.

The task goes to get information about two boot processes, boot logs and answer question why doesn't second SD work.

I tried to use minicom on my host laptop (with Kubuntu 15.04) to connect with booting board and see what is happening. But I didn't see anything even when the linux from first SD was running.

So can minicom help me to see boot processes or have I to use anything else?
