Intel Driver and Support Assistant page says my 13600k is at 1.6 volts

Is this normal? I noticed it when updating my drivers most recently. I opened Hardware Info to check and it had normal readings between 1 and about 1.1 volts. Even with a stress test, Hardware Info wasn't showing anything higher than 1.24 volts (screenshot of stress test and idling). I refreshed the page before, during, and after the stress test, and it was always the same. Why would the Intel page be showing a current voltage of 1.6?

Hi Dirkdjently,

Thank you for creating a thread in Intel Communities.

After checking it on my system with a different model of Intel processor, I am also getting 1.6. It seems there is an issue with the values displayed on the website generated by the Intel Driver and Support Assistant. I will need to raise this feedback with our website team. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I will get back to you once I have an update. Your processor is working normally. It is only a misreported value on the website.

Hi Dirkdjently,

Thank you for waiting for our update.

I have checked with the developers of the Intel Driver and Support Assistant (IDSA). They informed me that the voltage reading on the IDSA website is being pulled from Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), which is a Microsoft feature. The same information can be extracted using PowerShell: “Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Processor | Select-Object Name, CurrentVoltage”

To know more details on how the voltage is being obtained, please reach out to Microsoft Support. For accuracy though of the voltage reading it would be best if you refer to the reading of our Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel XTU).
