My system only becomes ready (task bar icons all Green) ONLY after Intel RST comes up on the task bar.

I have tried to change the order BUT RST is always last.

Is this due to the RAID loading or can I change this.

The computer works well if I don't try logging or jump the system to do something before the complete start is completed.

I have included a full spec of the system

Hello CFors5,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

This might be an expected behavior since this configuration has 2 mechanical drives running loading the RAID configuration, also the system while loading is going to analyze the RAIDs in order to make sure that there is not a failure on the disks or damages on the array which depending on the workload it could take some time.

  • Was working faster before?
  • Is this a new array set up?

Please generate the following reports so we can take a look into the configuration:

Intel® Rapid Storage Technology report.

  • Open the Intel Rapid Storage Technology user interface (Start > Programs > Intel > Intel® Rapid Storage Technology).
  • Click the Help icon.
  • Click the System Report icon.
  • Click Save.
  • Attach the report to the thread.

Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU)

  • Intel® SSU Download link
  • Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
  • Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".

If possible please make a video so we can see the delay or the time that your system takes to be usable.

The system from Memory From switch on until fully up around 5minutes…..

1. Switch on to 2

2. Windows Login to 3

3. Desktop full up and all green taskbar icons…

I have found if I wait between 1 and 2 (the orb stops spinning before I login then Login and then wait further for the Taskbar Icons to be all green.

If I dont wait then sometimes my ZoneAlarm Extreme does load or appear on the taskbar.

No its always been like this just with time on my hands see if I can find out why…. I have noticed that my Intel RST icon is the last to come up and my AV after that. Its like the AV is waiting for the RST to load before giving the green light. No a problem I have come to live with it, just thought might be a fix.. Hello CFors5,

Thank you for your reply.

This might be related to the AV (Antivirus) since it might need to scan all the system to make sure that you are protected against malware, by any chance have you tested the behavior by disabling the antivirus to check if it works faster.

You might check with the software developer how to disable it or how to run the system without it for testing porpuses.

Best regards,
