Hoe to activate a pci graphic card on M10JNP2SB with xeon 2224 without GPU function?

Hi there, i have a M10JNP2SB mainboard and added a xeon e2224 which has no graphic support. Hence I cannot use the onboard VGA. So I added a graphic card i to a PCI-e slot. But that graphic card doesn‘t give me any output. It looks like the BiOS setting is set to use the onboard graphic card, which cannot be used as the CPU doesn‘t support it. How can I do changes in the BIOS to activate the added Graphic card in the slot? Any possibility to access tje Web-BIOS when using A DHCP server? Thanks for any hints

Hello AKD,

Thank you for joining the community

The Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) is the one who provides the video and the output is via VGA port (D-Sub connector)

This information can be confirmed at the section named Product Architecture Overview (Figure board block diagram) of the document shown below:

Hope it helps:

Thanks Jose. So I‘m in a trap as the CPU has no graphic support to enter BIOS to setup a user and password for the BMC. Thx

Hello AKD,

By any chance do you have another graphics capable processor that you can use just to access BIOS and setup the BMC? The VGA port is supposed to have a video signal even if you are using a non-graphics processor. When using a graphics capable CPU, the video signal goes through the Display ports.

I‘m waiting one an extra CPU to try. However, are you sure that the PCIe Graficcard is activated in the BIOS by default? Thx

Hello AKD,

I just confirmed the VGA port is for the BMC graphics and is independent from the CPU graphics. That doesn't mean that a PCI graphics will be enabled from BIOS by default, but you should be able to get a video signal.

right, that is my understanding too. But since this is a new Mainboard no user and password for BMC was defined yet. Therefore I cannot log in. So I have no way to activate the PCIe Graphic card unless I have aCPU to support the online grapic card to enter the BIOS.
