My Ubuntu 20.04 (kernel 5.11.0-40-generic) and Rocky Linux 8.4 both report that IceLake CPU is not supported in my Supermicro X12DDW-A6 motherboard (PCH C621A)
https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/motherboard/X12DDW-A6
dmesg |grep intel_pstate
[ 2.897675] intel_pstate: CPU model not supported
The system is using acpi-cpufreq to manage the cpu.
I just wonder if this is this a known issue?
Also, when I do the command below, I can see the interrupt 6C is running.
My questions:
1) What type of interrupt is it?
2) How do I find which ACPI module that cause this issue?
grep . /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/* |grep gpe6C
/sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe6C: 40208 EN enabled unmasked
grep . /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/* |grep gpe6C
/sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe6C: 40210 EN enabled unmasked
# grep . /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/* |grep gpe6C
/sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe6C: 40212 EN enabled unmasked
Appreciate if someone from the community can comment on this and give me some hints.
Thanks
Chris

Hello CChong,
We appreciate the additional information, have you tried to contact SuperMicro and confirmed if the motherboard and the processor are indeed compatible? Additionally, have you tried to ask them information that you need? We do not have any know issues at the moment, what we recommend is to test your processor on a fully compatible system and check if it is working.
Best regards,
Sergio S.
