Hi @IntelEngineer,
I am currently working around the validation of DDR5 memory. I have few doubts regarding the same.
1.Is there any driver related to ddr5 inside the kernel? I checked inside /dev but I'm unable to find any so far.
2.For the post silicon validation of the memory, what are all the configurations/features that can be validated like clock speed..etc.?
3.Is there any default stress tests available to validate the ddr5 functionality and performance?
4.Are there any C based specific tools to perform successful validation?
Thank you!

Hi DeividA_Intel,
Thanks your kind resposne.
- I am working on Intel's Xeon Server based processsors.
- I will need to know regarding the drivers present inside the kernel for the DDR memory. If so, where the driver might be located?
- Is there any specific technique/protocols followed for the Validation of DDR memory?
Thank you!

Hello Niran_User,
Greetings for the day!
Thank you for posting in Intel Community. As per your response earlier, we understand that you are using an Intel Xeon-based processor. However, to analyze further, could you please provide the processor model and memory model? That will help us to provide compatibility for processors and a supported kernel driver for memory.
Regards,
Dineshbabu.

Hi @Dineshbabu ,
Thanks for your reply.
I'll be working on Intel's 4th Gen Xeon Server processor(Sapphire Rapids) and DDR5 will be the IP I will be functionallly Validating.

Hi Niran_User,
Thank you for posting on Intel community.
Please note since you are running an Xeon Processor, this should be ES or OEM.
We request to please check these details from place of purchase since the 5th Gen processor has not been released yet.
Also, DDR5 memory validation should come from the memory manufacturer.

Thank you @Meghak for your response.
By memory validation of DDR5 , I mean to ask regarding the following:
1. Is there any benchmarking tools that I can use to validate the DDR?
2. How do general memory measurements and performance analysis are carried out when it comes to DDR RAM?
3.What are all the configurations/parameters that can be taken into account for application level Validation/Analysis of DDR?
Regards,
Niran
