AX201 - connection speed reduced after update

I have a Dell Vostro 15.  The wireless adapter is an Intel Wi-fi 6 AX201 - 160 Mhz.   I recently updated the driver.  I downloaded it from the intel site instead of the Dell download because I noticed the Dell download had an older version of the driver.   I kept getting messages I needed to update my drivers Dell, or I wouldn't have made any changes.

Since I updated to the latest driver, my laptop's connection speed to the router is stuck at 866.7mbps, not a bad speed, but prior to changing anything, I was consistently connecting at 1.2gbps.

I have tried the following steps:

  1. I uninstalled the adapter in Device Manager and rebooting to have it automatically install it again.
  2. I reset my modem/router.  Note: I am about 6 feet from the modem/router.
  3. I rolled back the driver to the previous one that allowed me to connect at the higher speed, but it still will not connect at the previously higher speed.
  4. I double-checked the Advanced properties on the adapter as specified in an article I found here, regarding  802.11a/b/g wireless mode and 802.11n/ac/ax wireless mode, and channel width is set to auto.

My concern is this: I have ordered a new modem/router combo that actually FULLY supports Wifi 6 so I SHOULD be able to connect a bit faster than I used to, in addition to the other benefits of being able to manage my wifi network locally.  My ISP currently controls the network and I can't login to the modem/router to change any settings.   My fear is that something is causing a conflict after I updated the drivers and a few updates from Dell, though those were NOT related to wireless.

I did download the System Support Utility and have attached the log here.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!
