Intel AX201 Bluetooth 5.1 Audio Issues

I've been experiencing connectivity issues with my Oppo Enco Buds2 (Bluetooth 5.2 TWS) when using them with my Xiaomi Mi Notebook Ultra laptop. If I turn my head about 90 degrees, the audio connection momentarily cuts out, resulting in muffled sound, and after a couple of seconds, I can only hear from the earbud that’s closest to the laptop. Similarly, if I move around, the audio becomes muffled or cuts out briefly, with only one earbud working at times.

I’ve tried both the OEM driver and the latest Bluetooth driver, but neither has resolved the issue. I also tested the earbuds with other devices like phones and different laptops, and they work fine without these issues.

Any insights into what might be causing this problem with my laptop's Bluetooth connection would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been using the same laptop (Xiaomi Mi Notebook Ultra) for over two years and have faced the exact same issue with multiple Bluetooth devices, including TWS earbuds. Like you, I’ve tried various solutions, including updating drivers, using both OEM and latest drivers, and even re-pairing the devices countless times. Unfortunately, none of these resolved the issue.

In my case, I even went as far as replacing the motherboard, but the problem persisted. This makes me suspect that it might be a hardware limitation with the Bluetooth module in this laptop or potentially a software optimization issue specific to Xiaomi's Bluetooth implementation.

Given that other devices like phones or different laptops don’t exhibit this problem with the same earbuds, the root cause seems tied to the laptop. If more users are reporting this, it might be worth raising this with Xiaomi for a clearer acknowledgment of whether it’s a hardware design issue or something that could be patched via software.

Did you try the fixes listed in the link ? Bluetooth Ear Buds have to be the output devices for sound not the speakers.
