ALTERA's quartus-III can be used to debug a VHDL code running on STRATIX-III using JTAG.
I'm looking for a debugger that will debug the FPGA over ethernet. The PC running the debugger will be connected to the FPGA using an IP to JTAG converter. Is it possible ? Thanks.Link Copied

You could use EthernetBlaster Communication Cable (Download Cable) that is available from Altera for configuring and debugging Altera FPGA based systems.

An ethernet enabled programming cable sounded fab until I checked out the price: $575. What a !@#$ rip-off. You could buy a brand-new Wall-Mart PC, including a Vista license, to do that job for just $300.

That is what I mean.
I do not think that the currect release is certified on Vista at this time. I might be wrong. I was sort of joking with you on the topic. You are absolutely right about the price delta.- Mark as New
