remote update debug with USB-blaster

Hello,

I am trying to debug a design with a remote update IP.

I use the USB-blaster to debug but everytime after loading the design I loose the connection with USB-blaster:

Using cable "USB-Blaster [USB-0]", device 1, instance 0x00

Pausing target processor: not responding.

Resetting and trying again: FAILED

Leaving target processor paused

My guess that it isn't possible to used the USB-blaster with a remote-updated-IP because the USB-blaster will trigger a reconfiguration directely after configuration as it uses the reconfiguration pins. Is that correct?

Did anyone ever used the USB-blaster to debug a design with remote_update IP??? Are that any special/hidden assignments, clock definitions, or anything else to be aware of for that?

Are there particular ways to debug such a system?

I am using the Cyclone3 NIOS development kit at the moment.

Thanks,

escraph
