Hi,
we are using cycloveV-Soc.
Both Quartus on Windos and Unix ( Ubuntu) - ver 23.1
Have issues to open HPS in platform designer.
When selecting HPS IP ,Seems that it is stucked ( waiting forever) and not opening.
We can open easly other IPs such as UART , SPI, etc with no issues
we try it both on Linux and Win installation
Recriate the issue is very simple
just open
- Open a fresh new qsys Project
- Add IP – HPS and it stuck.
I would appricate to get info how to trubleshoot this.
What we should check in the installation, is something missing. is some setup or configuration is wrong?
We try it also in quartus 22.1, same behaviour, may me somthing has change?

What are the specs of the computer you are running Quartus on? The HPS is a complicated IP and a low-end machine could have issues.

Hi
We are Experts in HPS, and are using cycloneV- Soc for some projects.
I would appriciate to read carfully !! the issue as descrbed in this ticket..
The issue is with OPENNING THE HPS IP, not with the IP itself!!
The issue is that when oppening the HPS IP in platform designer , the IP stucks!!! when openning. Other IP openning is OK!!
I would appricaite your help.

Base on my experience on supporting this type of issue, can you help to check in the below?
1) install currprocess https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cprocess.html and disable all the software running behind there
2) disable the anti virus
3) close all the Quartus software
go to c:/user/<username>/ rename the quartus2.ini and quartus2.req for windows
cd to home/<user>/.altera.quartus rename the quartus2.ini and quartus2.req for linux
and reopen the quartus. this will reset the initial setting of the quartus prime.
4) did you install all the devices?
5) check if you have spaces in your directory names? If you had, try to replace the spaces with underscores.
6) delete .altera.quartus
7) Make sure all your folder are not in read only options.
Let me know how it goes after doing all the debug steps,
