Hello,

I´m looking for the latest driver for the Intel dual band wireless-n 7260 for Windows 10 64bit. The official support pages are not available (404). It would be very nice if anyone could tell me a download link. (f.e. url )

Thanks and best regards,

This thread is a little odd.  Just hundreds of people asking Scott for a driver.

But, alas, I too am in need of this driver.  Scott, would you mind sending me the most recent driver for the 7260?

Thanks.

Yes, it is. I have been doling out the drivers to one user at a time, so that I could collect user information to use in my argument that the files need to be reposted. I am at the point of giving up, however. Intel is saying that there is a security risk associated with reposting the drivers and that Intel Legal is simply not going to allow it.

So, I am providing a share link here that will allow anyone to pull the final file releases for the various discontinued Wireless Adapters that I had archived: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AtacZBU04mo-j-tQ34BdSDv6y1BFsg?e=7gn50T. Where possible, I have included the original Release Note files; where not possible, I have created Release Note files with what information I have access to.

If someone wants to take these files and put them on a file sharing service, go for it. Let me know where they are available and I will remove them from my share.

Hello again, @n_scott_pearson .

Yes, the plan was to make a new thread with the 7260 driver mirrors.  As I mentioned previously, I have been monitoring this thread, and I was waiting until either a nice round number for the total downloads (400?) or a date near a round number of months (9?), whichever came first.

I can certainly add the other drivers you've now made available as well.  I have downloaded those from your OneDrive share.  But it is going to take a bit longer before I can post that new thread, with all the download links for not just the 7260 but the others as well.  I will shoot you a PM and/or post in this thread when everything is ready.  When that thread is indeed posted, you are welcome to vet the downloads yourself against your originals, if you so choose. Also, a post in that thread by yourself would be helpful so people can properly thank you

If you do not mind, I do have a question: does your last reply mean you are no longer interested in tracking download numbers, going forward? I was planning to limit the mirrors to sites which offer download tracking in terms of number of downloads, but if that is no longer important, there are other file hosts that might be better for end-users.

Let me know.  And again, thank you for your efforts.

Scott,

I found this thread whilst trying to get my new N7260HWM working on  my laptop. The Wifi drivers were fine, but no Bluetooth.

I downloaded the drivers from your link, used Device Manager with "Show Hidden devices" switched, deleted the old BT device, and ticked "delete driver files". Then rebooted, and installed the BT drivers for the card. Rebooted agaib and here I am wit BT fully functioning, listening to my Bose SoundLink I again.

I have joined this forum solely to say "Thank You". I see many people not using your link, just asking for you to send it by PM. I have included it in my quote of your original post on August 8 2023 , maybe some others will find it and stop asing you for it

So,

Thank You, Scott.

Sadly, as long as Intel continues to have this asinine threaded display mode set as the default, people are still going to be taken down the proverbial rabbit hole and not see the final posts. Sigh!

I am surprised everyone who owns a wifi card that is discontinued doesn't know your name by now....lol.  I am going to unsubscribe from the thread now that I have mostly fixed my problem.  I am so very thankful that you had the patience to be still answering this thread and I was able to navigate the "rabbit hole" enough to get to your solution.  I admit it took me longer than it should have but I have learned alot too.  I don't participate in many things like this and it was only because I needed help that I knew I couldn't get anywhere else.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!  This proves that ONE person can influence and help thousands.  You are a very patient man.  Thank you, Mr. Pearson!!

Very true, unfortunately.

The threaded view makes things unnecessarily complicated and arduous.

Thank you very much for sharing. You saved me by being fired (without internet on my laptop I cannot work, so...) I just spent almost 2h trying to fix the issue.

I'm in awe about the Intel response... This WLAN device is not that old, considering, and that it'd be so hard to find the drivers it's simply baffling.

Thanks a ton, really!

V.

Oh no, I am still interested in having tracking information, though I suppose it is somewhat moot as there is no chance that Intel is going to restore it now. I was afraid that the S word would be raised as this trumps (and kills) everything. I think it is baloney, but the ship has sailed.
