Why cannot set JumboPacket at VLAN?

Win10 1903 [Version 10.0.18362.329], X710 SFP adapter.

I can set JumboPacket '9014 Bytes' at the parent adapter successfully (with Set-IntelNetAdapterSetting cmdlet). I can add VLANs successfully (with Add-IntelNetVLAN powershell cmdlet). But then I cannot set JumboPacket at VLAN:

PS C:\> Get-IntelNetVLANJumboPacket -ParentName "Ethernet Controller X710 for 10GbE SFP+" -VLANID 253 | Set-IntelNetVLANJumboPacket -RegistryValue "9014" Set-IntelNetVLANJumboPacket : Cannot validate argument on parameter 'Setting'. Hello Vadim,

 

Apologies for the delay on this matter.

 

We'd like to inform you that we don't have public documentation that states this as of yet. You can set Jumbo Packets on the ADAPTER on windows 10, but you cannot set Jumbo Packets on the VLAN on Windows 10, like you could for those server OSs mentioned on our previous post. 

 

Regarding the X520 that can support jumbo frame on VLAN in Windows 10, kindly provide the following information.

1.) Specific Windows 10 build

2.) PBA of the adapter. You may refer to this link on where to find the PBA number. It consists of 6-digit number located at the last part of the serial number.

3.) Please share the exact driver version installed.

1) Windows 10.0.16299

2) G43260 (HP) and E68793 (Intel)

3) Intel Network Connections 22.4.16.0

 

Maybe some clue is just about terminology.. That old version has a GUI for settings. When we add VLAN in GUI then additional "virtual" (?) adapter appears for this VLAN and we can set jumbo packet size on this "virtual" adapter (not "on VLAN"?). Latest version has no GUI and we cannot do it the same way as before.

Apologies for the delay on this matter.

 

Please be informed that PROSet for Device Manager is no longer supported in your current build of Windows 10.

 

Regarding Jumbo Packet on VLAN, as mentioned on our previous posts, it is not supported. You can set Jumbo Packets on the ADAPTER on windows 10, but you cannot set Jumbo Packets on VLAN on Windows 10.

 

We've also tried to use X520 and X540 card on Win10 1803 with PROSet in Device Manager. We were able to create the VLAN but no option for the jumbo frame, it can set on the adapter itself but not on the virtual adapter.
