VGA 24 bit Avalon???

Hi all, 

Are there someone know about the Avalon_VGA_24 bit? I wat to display images in RGB24. 

There is a Avalon_VGA module in SOPC but it is 16bit (display RGB565). Futhermore, if we use RGB24 ( 8 8 8), how we stored data in sram (32 bit data)?

I am using the VGA_LCD controller from opencores.org. 

It seems that someone at Altera used it a while back in the vgacoldfire reference design. 

 

I did download that design and I am trying to get it to work with Nios, but have not had much luck yet. You can try it, it already has the required class.ptf for SOPC builder. 

 

Please be warned this is not a drop in solution like the one you were talking about. So you will have to spend some time trying to figure out the core and getting it to wory in HW.
