Hi folks,

How do I obtain a license file to enable the design security features such as configuration file encryption for Cyclone V?

Thanks,

You need to speak to your local altera distributor

Do you have a subscription license? If yes, check whether you have the following line in the license file:

FEATURE quartus_nonvolatile_encryption

(as mentioned in license FAQ: https://www.altera.com/support/support-resources/download/licensing/q-and-a.html#c_07

If this line is missing, regenerate the license file in licensing center.

If you're using web edition, i think you might need to contact your local distributor and ask them to request a license from altera. Hope this helps!

Are u trying to generate an ekp file? How about using exactly the same command line described in page 10 an556? Not to forget the key identity in the key file too(page9). Other way to create ekp is from Quartus II GUI.Go to File>Convert Programming File..(explained in page 8 AN556).if u can see the bitstream encryption not greyed out in step 7(i),it means u already hv the encryption feature. Good luck!

If you're trying to generate the ekp file, then you need to check whether you have a license file to do so.

Generate/create ekp file requires a license file, but program the key into the device does not require a license.
