problem using lcd16207

hello all !!  

After downloading the uClinux on the DE2 board , I see lcd16207 driver in /dev 

Can anyone tell me how can I display something on the board... 

I am very new , so if this sound stupid .. please excuse me !!!

you should be able to use as any other character stream, with fopen(),fprintf() and so on...in the nioswiki there should be some examples http://www.nioswiki.com/operatingsystems/uclinux/lcd_16207

Do I need to connect RS232 cable to display on the board through uClinux ?
