Quartus II Compability

The software requirement said that it operates under Win XP and 2000. 

So does that mean Win Vista user can't use the program??  Because the setup seems to freeze and not responding during the installation process. Is this a common problem??  Regards, LoneSync

https://www.altera.com/support/software/download/service_packs/quartus/spk-quartus_index_new.jsp says that service pack 1 for version 7.2 added "Windows Vista 32 and 64-bit support for SOPC Builder and 32-bit support for Nios® II Embedded Design Suite (EDS)".

Problem solved. 

 The only difference between can and can't installed is the taskbar height. 2 row = can't installed, program freeze / not responding during installation 1 row = no problem detected.  how come such problem exist? is it the installer bug? or is it my computer problem (but i just fresh installed my OS few days ago)??

Sounds like a bug. Please file a service request at https://mysupport.altera.com/eservice/ so that Altera can fix it for future versions.
