Cannot load data file, getModuleInfo: invalid id(): Remote analysis

I have set up everything according to this manual for remote analysis <https://software.intel.com/en-us/vtune-amplifier-help-linux-system-setup-for-remote-analysis>. I am able to run applications on target and collect data. While resolving the data,  Vtune throws an error

Cannot load data file `/opt/devel/vtune/projects/test/r020hs/data.0/30401-30415.1.trace' (getModuleInfo: invalid id()!).

I did a quick search on google to find this <https://software.intel.com/en-us/vtune-amplifier-help-error-message-cannot-load-data-file>, which says that there is not enough storage on my disk. I reran vtune with an alternative temporary directory and got the same error.

Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

We are running into the same issue (getModuleInfo: invalid id()!) on our machines, running Ubuntu 18.04.1 with Intel Vtune 2019 Update 3.

Please advise.

Hi guys,

sorry for the late response. Please share your results to check what is really wrong with them and also please describe by steps (ideally with examples of commands and details relating to system environment and application specific) what you used, it will help to find a bug.

As a workaround I can advise to use  hotspots analysis based on Hardware Event-Based Sampling (-knob sampling-mode=hw in command line).

BR,

Vladimir
