I am writing a tool that uses the Pentium 4 performance counters to measure events. I want to measure the DTLB miss rate. The performance counter documentation lists the DTLB_load_miss and DTLB_store_miss events in table A5. I also need to know the total number of DTLB accesses to calculate the percent of DTLB load misses. I do not see an event for all DTLB references. What event or events should I use to count all DTLB references?

Hi,
The engineers we spoke to about this recommended that you use the Intel VTune Performance Analyzer (http://www.intel.com/software/products/vtune/).The toolsforums are all listed at http://softwareforums.intel.com/IDSunder "Intel Software Development Products"; if you repost this issue to the forum corresponding to the performance analyzer version and the platform you will be using, you should be able to get help from the developer community onusing the VTune Performance Analyzerto do the job.
Also, the Intel Customer Support teamfor the Intel Software Development Products can be emailed directly through the formhere.
Regards,
