Hi everyone,
I need to calculate the overall operations quantity for certain program function. These operations include additions, shifts and comparison (as they are similar in complexity). In forum threads I found only one topic which concerns FLOPS counting: http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums//topic/43860 but this is not what I need.
I have several processors to test application: Core2Duo, Pentium III, Celeron. VTune Performance Analyzer version: 9.0 build: 719. Is there any event counter to calculate exact operations quantity which function performs? If there is not, what I have to do?
I tried "micro operation any retired" counter, but got confused with big differences in this counter value with several activity runs. As I realize, the overall operation quantity is a constatnt value for application with constant input parameters, am I right?
So I asking for your help with this problem.
Thanks!
Best Regards,
Dmitriy
