Hello,
I just did a complete VTune 8.0 installation on Linux. After it is done, I found there are sampling librarieslibvsamp.so files. One is under /opt/intel/vtune/analyzer/bin and the other is under /opt/intel/vtune/rdc/analyzer/bin. The file date for these two libvsamp.so files are different.
My question: will these two sampling library files cause problems? why are there two libvsamp.so files?
Thanks,
L.Y.

Great question LY. And the answer is, in a word, no, this creates no problem.
The /opt/intel/vtune/analyzer/bin file tree is used by the vtl and vtlec commands.
The opt/intel/vtune/rdc/analyzer/bin file tree is used by the Linux remote agent, vtserver. (The "rdc" in the path stands for "remote data collector.")
As you have already guessed, it isn't unusual for theLinux remote agent to be updated at different times from vtl/vtlec.
cheers
