I have a requirement to find hotspots of a large vb6 application. Some years ago we used DevPartner, but the tool is no longer available to me. So I though of using VTune as it seems to fit, but I am uncertain.
Am I in the appropriate forum to ask this question?
Thanks for your help
P.S I like your forum interface, very easy to use.

This seems like a good place to ask the question, although it may not be seen by anyone familiar with VB unless and until the forum owner makes an attempt to refer it. You could certainly get a trial VTune license and try VTune and PTU (see the whatif forum).

Go to theproject's Properties/Compile, choose 'Compile to Native Code' and check 'Generate Symbolic Debug Info' and try it.I use DevPartner for this.
Ironically, I made the same inquiry on the Fortran forumwrt Intel Visual Fortran as have many others on this forum. Having been told by the forum's owner that it could, and that demonstration of this claim would be forthcoming, it never did. Perhaps he forgotso I forgot about VTune.
