Set up Remote Linux (SSH). Host: my local machine with MacOS.

Hi, I am using a local machine MacOS and I have Vtune GUI installed locally. I am trying to set up remote Linux ( Ubuntu ) through SSH.

Remote >> /tmp/vtune_profiler_target/bin32/amplxe-runss -V

Output: Intel(R) oneAPI VTune(TM) Profiler 2021.3.0 (build 616728) Data Collector Copyright (C) 2009-2021 Intel Corporation. All rights reserved.

I think the above output tells me enough that vtune is set up correctly on the remote system.

In the "where" panel of my local VTune applicaiton, I have specified:

SSH destination: username@hostname

Vtune Profiler installation directory on the remote system: /tmp/vtune_profiler/target

Temporary directory on the remote system: /home/username

When I hit "Deploy", I see these errors:

1, Please, check that the command '/tmp/vtune_profiler_target/bin32/amplxe-runss -V' is run successfully on the target.
2, VTune cannot detect remote machine configuration.

Also, I want to add that I am able to connect to this remote server in a passwordless fashion. Although I access the remote server through a proxy server, I don't know if this is the problem.

Thanks!

Hey Jenny, Please see if VTune tmp folder was created on the remote target. if it was, try to run the "runss -V" command directly on the remote target system.
