Support for more than 128 cores

Release notes for VTune 9.1 has a NOTE requesting to contact Intel if the tool will be used on systems with more than 128 cores. Is there a configurable parameter in VTune that needs to be tuned to get support for systems with more than 128 cores? Also is there a maximum limit on the number of cores that will be supported?

Thanks for your time

Hi,

I think that description should be "Sampling Data Collection and Analysis of up to 128 processors" - that is for HPC system, multiple processors in signe node.

For single/limited multi-core processor(s), no any configuration neededby VTune Analyzer, it is auto-enabled.

That note is related to sampling on large multi-processor systems, where a user may only have access to N number of processors/cores.

What kind of system are you running on that has more than 128 cores?
