Urgent: Corrupt desktop

I have just installed the demo VTune 6 on Windows 2000 sp2, and after
reboot, my desktop is gone. Going into control panel hangs the desktop. I rebooted in safe mode
and see most of the services failed with something
like 7001: Cannnot start because no invocation since last boot.

I cannot uninstall since Window installer service is not running. Any ideas?

You should file an issue on premier.intel.com. They can help you there. I have installed VTune several times on Win2k and never seen this happen.
