VTune API's for Linux Application

Can I use the VTune APIs on an application that I need to compile on a Linux box. I'll then be collecting the samples for this application as a remote agent from the Windows machine.

unfortunately not.
at lest I did not find any related files/libraries/references in doc neither for Linux remote agents, nor in native Linux cli solution.

probably you'd like to open an enchance request to premier support

just to remind you that Pause/Resume APIs has global machine effect, so if you are going to profile multithreaded appliction this solution may cause some unexpected results.
