We have the old Vtune 9.0 at our office. When I tried it for sampling, i did not get the "clock ticks" or the "cycles per retired instructions" graph. I only got the "retired instructions" graph.
I used it on Vista SP1 32bit.
I know Vtune 9.0 (or 9.1 for that matter) does not support Sandybridge CPU. Is this the reason for this result, or could there be something else?
Thanks.

VTune Performance Analyzer 9.0(9.1) is a very old product, there is no software update and support service provided.
Please use VTune Amplifier XE 2011, current is Update 7 which supports SandBridge processors for Mobile/PC. Note that SandyBridge-EP will be supported in future release.
Go http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-vtune-amplifier-xe/ to know more, then have a try to make your decision to upgrade old product to VTune Amplifier XE or buy a new license.Regards, Peter
