Hello,
I'm trying to profile a program that is initiated by a script which spans a bunch of suprocesses. When analyzing hotspots vtune sees the cpu usage in our tool:
However if I run on the same program the memory consumption analysis only memory from standard linux tools is shown. (these are programs that are directly or indirectly called by the tool). The real memory usage is higher, but it is not seen by vtune.
What could be the problem?

1.
This is the cpu I'm using:
Model name: Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6258R CPU @ 2.70GHz
Stepping: 7
CPU MHz: 2699.999
BogoMIPS: 5399.99
Hypervisor vendor: VMware
Virtualization type: full
L1d cache: 32K
L1i cache: 32K
L2 cache: 1024K
L3 cache: 39424K
NUMA node0 CPU(s): 0-7
It is a virtual machine in a VMWare environment
OS:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation release 7.8 (Maipo)
2. The real code is very big and I cannot find a small example code that reproduces the problem
3. Make a project, run my program in memory consumption mode
4. VTune 2023.2.0.49485
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
To assist you better, we would need a sample reproducer, i.e., the application you're running(if you're not trying the in-built samples).
Could you please share the sample reproducer to check the issue from our side?
Thanks
