Your chance to be heard! Remote Linux data collection?

For those of you that use the Linux* RDC (remote data collector) from a Microsoft* Windows* client to configure, collect, and view the data, what impact would requiring a Linux client have on you? That is, in order to do remote data collection, you would need a Linux client instead of a Windows client.
Your response may be critical in formulating future directions. Thanks for your help!
