Working on Linux with Amplifier trial.
Is it in any way possible to collect system-wide hotspots with a limited call stack? I seem to recall using an Intel product (on Windows) built on eclipse doing sampling with callstacks before. The hotspots collection mode is pretty much useless for me, as I'm working on a production system, with processes that must run 24x7, and attaching hotspots collection to a process a second time crashes it. Can this somehow be avoided?
The lightweight-hotspots collection produces some results, but they do not help solve my particular issues as they're primarily in common glibc functions.
Are there alternative intel tools that could produce a sampling callstack, similar to but more useful than linux oprofile?
