newbee query on CPI

hello,

I have optimized the C code and want to checkis it efficient than the original .

So I installed Intel Vtune Performance Analyer .

But when I check the CPI (Cycles per Retired Instruction ) for same code twice, thrice ...... CPI keeps on changing so how to get the fixed(constant) CPI for refferance.

Please reply ASAP that will help
