vTune not functioning correctly

Customer writes regarding their vTune installation.

We were able to download, install and run it, but we could not get it towork how we needed for our application and OS (Ubuntu 9.10). We couldnever get the full instrumentation to work to allow callstack analysis.

Last error we were getting was something like this:

Tue May 22 12:40:08 2012 Static instrumentation done

sh: Symbol `__fini_launcher_dll' causes overflow in R_X86_64_PC32 relocation

Any thoughts on what could be their problem?

Regarding error message "Tue May 22 12:40:08 2012 Static instrumentation done" - your customer was using call graph feature which is in old product VTune Performance Analyzer 9.1. This product is not supported again, and not workable in new silicons and new operation systems.

Please use current product named VTune Amplifier XE 2011 Update 9, which instruments program and its libraries dynamically.
