Adriana Platt
Business Development Manager, Supplier Diversity & Inclusion
“Everyone has something unique to contribute and diversity enhances the ideas we generate when we’re trying to do things that have never been done. Having many ways to solve problems and differing points of view challenges us to constantly evolve and become better.”
Adriana Platt was raised in Ohio by her mother, a Mexico native, and American father. Growing up she was interested in both technology and business, which led her to pursue a mechanical engineering degree from Rose Hulman, and an MBA from the University of Illinois.
After finishing her MBA, Adriana was recruited to join Intel’s Global Supply Management team. She and her girlfriend – now wife – relocated to Oregon for Adri’s new job a decade ago.
Adriana has valued her experience at Intel not just for the important work she does diversifying Intel’s supply chain, but also because of Intel’s overall commitment to diversity and inclusion, including the LGBTQ community. She is proud of Intel’s long-standing support of its LGBTQ employees, which includes filing amicus briefs on behalf of the community, fostering Employee Resource Groups, and implementing industry-leading benefits.
To Adriana, some of Intel’s most important work for LGBTQ employees has been its voluntary self-identification survey of LGBTQ employees in its U.S. workforce. For many who participated, it was a powerful experience to stand up and be counted – it’s also an important step toward full inclusion, ensuring that the community is included, and is progressing and retained like their peers.
Adriana also serves as the operations manager of the Intel Out&Ally Leadership Council, where she leads council operations and partners with co-chairs on executive engagements to increase LGBTQ inclusion at Intel. She’s proud to serve as a role model of inclusive leadership and champion the company’s LGBTQ employees and initiatives.
