Intel® Liftoff member Beewant is breaking new ground with its multimodal AI approach. With minimal effort, its technology analyzes videos for specific content. This process not only produces travel guides but also generates training content. Beewant is developing many multimodal applications in domains ranging from video question answering, question-driven travel guides, corporate training, and autonomous driving. Examples include corporate training, autonomous driving, online moderation, and more. These are application areas where both language and multimedia content are crucial.
For example, the use of AI for content moderation can help classify and identify unsafe and suspicious cases. It relies on the "correct" interpretation of the respective context. AI-powered moderation can automatically analyze texts, images, and videos for unwanted content, filter them out, and prevent their publication, depending on the use case.
AI-Powered Content Moderation, Autonomous Driving, and Corporate Training
Another increasingly important use case is autonomous driving. Analyzing different data formats is crucial here. The Beewant AI solution differs fundamentally from others. Through its multimodal approach, it can continuously monitor, analyze, and evaluate all parameters necessary for as safe driving as possible.
In addition, the Beewant AI solution supports more than 30 different languages, which is of significant relevance for corporate training. You can ask questions about existing content, like training videos, in your native language. Even though the video is in French, you can search for it in your native language, like English. This allows for global training content based on a single language, making such corporate training very efficient and cost-effective.
But the support for multimodal content goes even further. With the Beewant AI approach, even YouTube videos can be analyzed, summarized, questions asked, and much more. And this happens in a matter of seconds. All in all, Beewant greatly enhances the handling and possibilities of multimedia content.
Accelerating Development with Intel® Hardware and Software
As a member of the Intel® Liftoff for AI startups, Beewant takes advantage of Intel's support for their AI solution: "Intel's help in modifying our AI software to their hardware, such as the Intel® Xeon® processor, was very helpful. We would hardly have been able to adapt certain CPU functions to our code so well on our own." - Ahmed Joudad, CEO of Beewant.
The software company has access to the Intel® Tiber™ Developer Cloud. Both the current Intel® Xeon® processors and Intel® Data Center GPUs are capable of testing and optimizing their AI applications and workloads. Beewant benefits particularly from this CPU-GPU combination in terms of computing power. In numerical terms, this means a development time shortened by a factor of 3, for example, in implementing and testing new features.
To provide the best possible support for Beewant AI solutions, various software adjustments were initially necessary. The good news: Intel software developers took care of the software finetuning. Only a few hours were required to make the adjustments to the Beewant software. Intel was responsible for handling the hardware-level optimizations, which required a considerable amount of specialized knowledge.
The Intel® Extension for PyTorch serves as a significant CPU feature in this context. This extension for the open-source PyTorch program library primarily accelerates AI applications that benefit extensively from machine learning algorithms. The PyTorch extension provides significant acceleration for deep learning algorithms running on Intel processors.
Growing Visibility with Intel® Liftoff
Participation in high-profile events like Intel® Innovation 2023 and WAIFC 2024 has increased Beewant’s exposure. Currently, about a dozen companies, including the City of Paris, are utilizing Beewant’s multimodal AI, with Paris integrating AI to offer extensive information about the city.
In addition, Intel showcased Beewant at the Intel AI Summit in Paris on September 17, 2024, spotlighting Beewant’s contributions to AI-powered multimedia solutions in front of an influential audience. This appearance has helped Beewant further establish its brand and gain visibility among key industry stakeholders.
Joint appearances at prominent industry events, such as CloudFest in Germany, further amplify Beewant’s visibility and reach, establishing it as a key player in AI-driven multimedia solutions.
A Strong Start to an Expansive Partnership
Thanks to the Intel® Liftoff program and the support of Intel software engineers, Beewant has developed a powerful platform for creating multimodal AI applications. This collaboration will transform multimedia engagement by introducing new capabilities in video, audio, and other areas.
