Get hands-on experience leveraging Intel’s AI software portfolio on AI PC and Intel® Gaudi® AI accelerator

Join us at MHacks 2024 hackathon to be held at the University of Michigan on September 28-29, 2024. Intel, being the cloud compute resources’ sponsor of the event, will grant the participants access to the Intel® Tiber™ Developer Cloud to build their hackathon projects. You will learn about Intel’s AI tools and frameworks optimizations powered by the oneAPI programming paradigm. You will be able to utilize the developer resources from our AI software portfolio on the latest hardware including CPUs, GPUs, Intel® Gaudi® AI accelerators on the cloud platform. Moreover, you will also get an opportunity to learn about and try your hands on AI PCs!

What is MHacks?

MHacks 2024 is the first student-organized hackathon of the University of Michigan, welcoming folks with any level of experience and background.

Make the ‘Best Use of Intel AI’ Technologies on Intel Tiber Developer Cloud and AI PC

Intel Tiber Developer Cloud is a sandbox for developers to build, test and optimize AI, HPC and edge-computing applications with Intel’s oneAPI-powered software portfolio and the latest hardware architectures including CPUs, GPUs and Intel Gaudi AI accelerators.

Don’t miss an opportunity to leverage our multiarchitecture, cross-vendor supported AI developer resources on Intel Tiber Developer Cloud. Also leverage AI PC developement kits and unlock the computational power of AI PCs brought to you by team Intel at the event. With the Intel Hackpack comprehensive guide, our team members will assist the participants in utilizing Intel Tiber Developer Cloud for GenAI development and help them troubleshoot any technical issues with the cloud platform.

Build high-quality, competitive, real-world applications at the hackathon and participate in the ‘Best Use of Intel AI’ project track.

Attend Intel’s Interactive Workshops

Team Intel will conduct two hands-on workshops at the hackathon:

  1. Kickstart Your Projects with Intel Technology

In this workshop, our team will guide the attendees through the Intel Developer Cloud, covering the basics of getting started and utilizing oneAPI tools and code samples on the cloud platform.  You will also learn how to harness and maximize the potential of AI PC for developing AI applications including the participants’ hackathon projects.

2. Fine tune a SoTA LLM in 5 minutes

In this workshop, learn how to fine-tune a LLaMa-7B model in less than 6 minutes on Intel Gaudi 2 processor. Learn how to use the Hugging Face* tooling through the Optimum Habana library and accelerate training and inference across 8 Gaudi 2 cards using tools like DeepSpeed. The knowledge gained in this workshop will help hackathon participants develop custom GenAI models using rarely accessible powerful compute resources.

Attend Intel-hosted workshops and get hands-on experience of accelerated AI development at the hackathon.

See You at MHacks!

We encourage you to join us at MHacks - spend a productive time developing high-performance AI/ML solutions, learning about and experimenting with Intel’s extensive portfolio of AI developement software on the latest hardware. You will also learn about Intel® Liftoff Program that helps AI startups grow into scalable industry-standard companies, Intel® Student Ambassador Program, Educator Program, career opportunities at Intel and a lot more!
