The Intel Tiber Edge Platform enables enterprises to build, deploy, run, secure, and manage Edge and AI solutions from pipeline to production with scale and manageability. It includes capabilities to deploy managed, distributed, Kubernetes-based edge node infrastructure, along with capabilities to build edge-native, optimized AI applications. These applications can be orchestrated using Kubernetes across the edge infrastructure at scale, thereby enabling businesses to benefit from cloud-like simplicity and bring operational efficiency across their edge infrastructure and deployments.
New Functionality
This release includes support for onboarding new set of optimized applications and software, plus support for multi-tenancy and simplified concurrent onboarding of multiple edge nodes.
Among further updates, here are key highlights from the new 24.11 software release:
Industry Solutions
New Spatial Intelligence Capabilities
- New optimizations in vertical tracker scaling and performance now enables large scale tracking across many objects.
- Improvements in distributed scene hierarchy allows for multiple scene controllers to work together for larger aggregated scenes.
- The EVAM visual analytics and Data Store microservices are now integrated in Scenescape for easier scalability of reusable microservices within Edge Platform.
Unified User Interface with Intel® Edge Insights System for Video and Time Series Analytics
- New user interface along with Keycloak based identity and access management, allowing for enhanced access management for different personas
- Simplified AI task deployment along with solution for data ingestion, inferencing, publishing, and visualization
AI and Applications
Large Language Model (LLM) Optimizations with OpenVINO™
- Optimizations for Intel® Arc™ Graphics with KV Cache compression for memory reduction, and model load time to improve first token latency for LLMs.
- New synthetic text data generation feature for more accurate LLM compression using data-aware methods without datasets.
- Preview: Multimodal AI deployment with GenAI API for pipelines for improved contextual awareness, audio-to-text conversions, and streamlined text-to-visual conversions.
- Speculative decoding in GenAI API for improved performance and efficient text generation using a small draft model that is periodically corrected by the full-size model.
Infrastructure Software
Multi-tenancy Support
- Multitenancy support provides secure, scalable deployment flexibility for maximum cost efficiency and resource optimization for companies supporting large infrastructure deployments like smart cities or industrial IOT.
- Simplified maintenance and management with centralized platform services such as identity and access management, observability, make it easier to manage large scale deployments securely.
Simplified Concurrent Onboarding for Edge Nodes
- Pre-register edge nodes and configure OS profiles to simplify onboarding process
- Simultaneous onboarding of up to 50 edge nodes, helping reduce setup time and enhance scalability.
Support for Deploying AI Workflows as well as 3rd party Applications
- Deployment and lifecycle management enabled for computer vision model development workflow, RAG framework for LLM pipelines, and validated 3rd party application
